Air Commander on a mission for Baffert in San Felipe |

Trainer Bob Baffert, who has won two jewels of the Triple Crown four times, is back on the Derby trail this Saturday, with Air Commander in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes. A field of seven will run the 1 1/16 event Saturday.
The San Felipe will be Air Commander's fourth start of of the Santa Anita meet, with Baffert wanting to give the the colt substantial experience before sending him to the Santa Anita Derby this April, and the run for the roses the first Saturday in May. Air Commander is coming off his second consecutive win in a first-level Allowance at Santa Anita on March 4th.
Air Commander's competition includes Cobalt Blue trained by Doug O'Neill; Dee Rain; Level Red; and Grappeli, with blinkers on for the first time. Cobalt Blue is coming into the race with a sprint Allowance win in his three-year-old debut on February 14, and he earned a 95 Beyer Speed Figure for that performance.
