Stormello will try to beat Scat Daddy in a rematch in the Grade 1 Florida Derby. Meanwhile, Michael Matz, who won last year's Florida Derby with Barbaro, is seeking to pull of an upset with underdog Chelokee; and California's dominant Doug O'Neill invades the East with Notional in a field of nine.
On March 3rd, Scat Daddy nosed a pace-setting Stormello for the win at Gulfstream Park's Grade 2 Fountain of Youth Stakes. They beat third-place favorite Nobiz Like Shobiz by half a length that time.
Scat Daddy's regular trainer Todd Pletcher, and rider John Velazquez will be at Nad Al Sheba for events on the Dubai World Cup card, but Eclipse-winning jockey Edgar Prado, who won the Florida Derby last year on Barbaro, will be aboard Scat Daddy Saturday.
Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes winner Notional drew the rail for trainer Doug O'Neill. He was beaten by Stormello in the Hollywood Futurity last year and finished off the board that time, but by only 2 1/2 lengths.
Chelokee has yet to win a graded stakes, but managed an impressive 3/4 length move over For You Reppo and Sightseeing in an Allowance last time out at Gulfstream.
The race will stream live from NBC Sports online. Post time is 5:30 PM Eastern, the stream begins at 5:15 PM.
