Georgie Boy is the man in San Vincente Print E-mail

In his three-year-old debut, Georgie Boy, trained by Kathy Walsh, returned after a five-month layoff to outdo his previous performance over seven furlongs, by taking the Grade II San Vincente at Santa Anita Park. Bob Baffert trainee Massive Drama lead most of the way, followed closely by Richard Mandella's Into Mischief, who made a mild second-run for the lead in the stretch, but was no match for Georgie Boy. Under Rafael Bejarano, Georgie Boy won by 3 1/4 lengths, clearing the 7/8 of a mile in 1:20.01.

The small field of five drawn for the San Vincente left the gate as only four due to a scratch from Cardinal Zin.
