Nine-year-old The Tin Man made his fourth straight win when returning from a seven-month layoff to take the Grade 1 Shoemaker Breeders Cup Mile. One of last year's top turf horses, The Tin Man has now joined the ranks of John Henry and Desert Native as one of Hollywood Park's oldest stakes winners. Regular rider Victor Espinoza was in the irons for the win for trainer Richard Mandella. |

Bob and John pressed a pace-setting Jonesboro in a muddy renewal of the Grade 3 Lone Star Park Handicap, emerging victorious in a stretch duel with fellow mud master Sweetnorthernsaint. The 1 1/16 miles was completed in 1:45.02, with Bob and John winning by a neck for trainer Bob Baffert. Garrett Gomez was the winning rider. Sweetnorthernsaint finished 6 3/4 lengths in front of a faded, third-place Jonesboro. |

Corinthian, trained by James Jerkins and piloted by Kent Desormeaux won Belmont Park's Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap by 3/4 of a length over bursting longhsot Political Force trained by Allen Jerkins, with Cornelio Velasquez riding. Lawyer Ron finished half a length behind second. The final time was 1:34.77. |

San Felipe winner Cobalt Blue was clear ahead in the lane of the $75,000 Alydar Stakes when Awesome Gambler shot by like a bullet to win the 1 1/8 mile contest by two lengths. Awesome Gambler is trained by Caesar Dominguez, and Joseph Telamo was in the irons. |

Honey Ryder, winner of last year's Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Handicap, repeated with a one-length win over Belmont Park's inner turf on Saturday. Stablemate and co-favorite Safari Queen was second, with John Velazquez up. The $150,000 stakes run at 1 3/8 miles was completed in 2:13. Honey Ryder is trained by Todd Pletcher, and Garrett Gomez is the winning jockey. The winner paid $4.30. |
