Rags to Riches is a three-year-old daughter of A.P. Indy, out of Better Than Honour. The Todd Pletcher trainee is undefeated in four 2007 starts. In her only race as a juvenile in 2006, she placed fourth in her maiden. After breaking her maiden in her 2007 debut, she won the Las Virgenes Stakes. Her next consecutive victories came in the Santa Anita Oaks, and ultimately the Kentucky Oaks. She has dominated in each win, and perhaps deserved a chance to beat colts in the Santa Anita Derby or Kentucky Derby. Rags to Riches is owned by Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith. Her next start may be her first against the boys, in the 139th running of the Belmont Stakes. |
