    Rags to RichesRags to Riches is a three-year-old daughter of A.P. Indy, out of Better Than Honour. The Todd Pletcher trainee is undefeated in four 2007 starts. In her only race as a juvenile in 2006, she placed fourth in her maiden. After breaking her maiden in her 2007 debut, she won the Las Virgenes Stakes. Her next consecutive victories came in the Santa Anita Oaks, and ultimately the Kentucky Oaks. She has dominated in each win, and perhaps deserved a chance to beat colts in the Santa Anita Derby or Kentucky Derby. Rags to Riches is owned by Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith. Her next start may be her first against the boys, in the 139th running of the Belmont Stakes.

    2006 Eclipse-winning Horse of the Year and 2007 Dubai World Cup winner, Argentine-bred Invasor is a veteran Thoroughbred champion at five-years-old. Before coming to the United States at the end of 2005, he raced in Uruguay, where he won all five of his starts, including that country's Triple Crown, and won Uruguay's title for Horse of the year. He races in the silks of Shadwell Stables and is trained by Kiaran Mclaughlin.

    A three-year-old son of Danzig, Hard Spun is owned by Fox Hill Farms. He completed his two-year-old campaign undefeated in three races. In his first start as a three-year-old in 2007, he extended his winning streak to four races in his graded stakes debut, the Grade III Lecomte Stakes at Fair Grounds. His first defeat came by a wide trip to finish in fourth place at the Southwest Stakes on President's Day. He came back to win the Lane's End Stakes at Turfway Park. Next, he led most of the way in the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby and finished second to Street Sense. Hard Spun's next finished third in the Preakness Stakes, Saturday, May 19. The Belmont Stakes may be next.

    Lava Man has won California's Horse of the Year title two years in a row. His 2006 record included seven consecutive wins, his only loss thereafter was the Breeders Cup Classic. He races for STD Racing Stable under jockey Corey Nakatani, and his trainer is Doug O'Neill.
